New miticide registered for Varroa management
Posted:Mon, Dec 5th, 2016 2:11:04 pmHealth Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is granting full registration for the sale and use of Flumethrin Technical Insecticide and Bayvarol Beehive Pest Control Strip containing the technical grade active ingredient flumethrin to control varroa mites in honeybee hives.

The Atlantic Tech Transfer Team for Apiculture (ATTTA) will work with the bee and blueberry industries to review current honeybee management practices across the country and customize it for the region's more than 38,000 commercial bee colonies and nearly 39,000 hectares of blueberries.
